Donald Adeosun Faison is an actor, comedian and voice actor. He was born to Donald and Shirley Faison on June 22, 1974 in Harlem, New York City, USA. His father was a building manager and his mother, a talent agent. He has two siblings, Olamide and Dade. Both his parents were active members of the National Black Theatre in Harlem. He was influenced by his mother whom he watched directing rehearsals. He credits his career success to his mother.
Faison studied in Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School and La Guardia High School for Music, Art and Performing Arts. Although Faison was no stranger to acting, being in the limelight, his career really picked up in 1992. As a child he acted in school plays and television commercials. He is best known for his leading role as Dr. Chris Turk in the television comedy drama Scrubs (2001-2010). It brought him major fame. The series Scrubs is a comedy about medical interns. He also had a minor role as Murray in the hit movie Clueless in 1995. The movie is a cult classic and a television series was made with the same name.
